What to do if your lock breaks
The multipoint lock in your door works hard – so it won’t last as long as conventional locks.
If your door handle is drooping, or if the lock is noisy or catches when you turn the handle - your door lock could be about to fail. Even worse, it might break while you are outside, locking you out when it does.
The good news is that with Yale Doormaster™, replacing that lock is simple – and knowing what to do if your lock breaks could save you a small fortune!
Replace your lock before it breaks
If your lock is starting to fail, you will usually get a number of warning signs. As soon as you spot these you should consider changing your lock to avoid the inconvenience and expense of of a broken lock.
Look for these signs:
- Drooping handles
- A grating noise when you turn the handle
- Stiffness in the handle
- A jerky motion when you operate the handle
- Visible scratches and marks on the hook or bolt when extended
By spotting these signs early, you will be able to choose how and when you want to replace your lock.
